Follow these rules and your name is far more likely to be approved the first time.
Make it original.
Choose a name that isn’t the same as, or confusingly similar to, a registered company or a trademark you don’t own.
Keep it respectful.
No offensive or obscene words, and no religious terms or references to God.
Avoid official names.
Don’t use the names of governments, ruling families or international organizations without approval.
Using a person’s name.
You can usually use a person’s name only if they are a shareholder, written in full rather than as initials.
Watch abbreviations.
Abbreviations and acronyms are often restricted. Spell your name out where you can.
End with your legal form.
Your company name ends with FZ-LLC, for example “Atlas Trading FZ-LLC”.
Tips for a name that’s approved the first time.
- Prepare two or three options, in order of preference.
- Match the name to your activities. “Trading” suits a trading license, not a consultancy.
- Avoid words that suggest a regulated activity, such as “bank”, “insurance” or “clinic”, unless your license includes it.
- Check the website domain and social handles you want before you apply.
